The FP7 Infrastructure project ESWIRP (European Strategic Windtunnel Improved Research Potential, www.eswirp.eu) aims at enhancing the complementary research potential and service capabilities of 3 strategic wind tunnels in Europe both in terms of productivity and quality. The concerned wind tunnels are ONERA S1MA Modane in France, DNW-LLF in the Netherlands, and ETW in Germany. The project started in October 2009 for a 48 month duration. The ESWIRP consortium is made of the 3 windtunnel operators ONERA (as project coordinator)in France, the DNW foundation and ETW GmbH. One of the major activities within this project is to offer to the research community "transnational access" into the 3 large strategic windtunnels involved in the project. In order to raise awareness within the research community about this access opportunity, the ESWIRP consortium is organising a first open workshop in Cologne, where one of the 3 ESWIRP windtunnels is located. The workshop is intended for researchers to express and share their ideas in terms of windtunnel test experiments they would like to perform in one or the other of the 3 ESWIRP windtunnels and for ESWIRP partners to describe their windtunnels and the prevailing conditions for transnational access.
The workshop invitation is attached.
